Raise a Glass for The Literacy Center During Special Pop-Up Dinner Featuring Spirited Cocktail Book Author Robert Simonson and Lucky Rooster’s Clayton Rollison
What happens when renowned New York Times and cocktail book author Robert Simonson comes together with Lucky Rooster Kitchen + Bar and the Hilton Head Seafood Festival?
An event the Lowcountry has never seen before!
Make reservations now to attend a very special “Bourbon & Martinis” pop-up dinner from 5-10 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 25, at Lucky Rooster Kitchen + Bar on Hilton Head Island. This incredible three-course dinner will feature amazing drinks, book signings with Simonson and a raffle ticket drawing for a very rare collector’s bottle from Buffalo Trace’s six millionth barrel of bourbon.
Best known for his work for The New York Times, Simonson has established himself among the nation’s best beverage writers. He is the author of multiple cocktail books including The Martini Cocktail and 3-Ingredient Cocktails, which was nominated for a James Beard Award.
During the evening, guests will enjoy a three-course dinner with three choices for each course along with suggested cocktails from one of Simonson’s recipe books for $65 per person plus tax and gratuity. Multiple course and wine options will be available. All drinks will be offered a la carte too. Seating is limited and will sell out quickly. Reservations may be made through Lucky Rooster’s OpenTable or by calling the restaurant at (843) 681-3474. Guests must be 21 or older to purchase raffle ticket or attend the bourbon event.
This special night full of fun, charity and libations is sponsored by Lucky Rooster Kitchen + Bar and LOCAL Life. A portion of the proceeds from the dinner and the raffle will benefit The Literacy Center, Beaufort County’s only adult literacy nonprofit.
“We’re so fortunate to have the support of Clayton, Lucky Rooster Kitchen + Bar and LOCAL Life to create this one-of-a-kind culinary experience to help us raise awareness about our work and raise funds to help support it,” said Brad Steele, executive director of The Literacy Center.
Nearly 500 students from 29 countries are currently enrolled at The Literacy Center’s Bluffton and Hilton Head Island Learning Centers, which provide reading, writing and math courses as well as a new workforce development program and pre-GED instruction.
Raffle tickets are on sale now to win a rare piece of bourbon history. The Literacy Center is one of only 400 charities in the United States to receive a commemorative bottle from Buffalo Trace’s six millionth barrel. This rare bottling of Buffalo Trace Straight Bourbon Whiskey – which comes with an incredible collector’s box that includes a piece of stave from the six millionth barrel – is not available in stores. Raffle tickets are $10 each and are available at Lucky Rooster Kitchen + Bar, LOCAL Life and online here.
