The 2015 Community Breakfast was a success!
On December 4, 2015, The Literacy Center hosted its annual Community Breakfast at Moss Creek Country Club. Over 170 individuals attended to hear tutors share the rewards of supporting the center’s mission of increasing adult and family literacy.
The Community Breakfast is an opportunity to learn more about the programs provided by TLC including basic literacy education, pre-GED coursework, English for Speakers of Other Languages and preparation to help people become US Citizens.
This is a great opportunity to network with other community leaders who support quality of life for all residents and the impact that makes on the economic well being in our region. Featured speakers will be announced soon.
For further information about attending or hosting a table, contact Dodi Echenbach at 843-815-6616.
We are currently seeking table sponsors. See below for details.
at each seat
A compelling story from a student whose life was forever changed by learning to read… A heartfelt description of the pride and joy experienced in becoming a U.S. citizen… An impassioned account of a tutor who has witnessed her student progress from reading at the first grade level to the fifth grade level in three short months.
These are all part of our annual Community Breakfast, where invited attendees get a first-hand, in-depth understanding of the meaningful impact The Literacy Center has on the lives of our students, our more than 100 volunteer tutors, our staff and our donors.
Held in December each year, table hosts invite friends to join us for this complimentary breakfast and the opportunity to meet students, volunteers, and staff, hear their inspiring stories, and support the critical work The Literacy Center does.
