8/18/2021 – Vaccination Policy & COVID-19 Information

Dear Friends of The Literacy Center,

Allow me to introduce myself; I am Brad Steele, the new Executive Director of The Literacy Center. It will be my honor to lead the organization through its next season of growth and development. I look forward to getting to know our students, volunteers, donors, sponsors, and community partners in the days to come.

For 45 years, The Literacy Center has been the only adult literacy nonprofit in Beaufort County, serving more than 500 people a year at seven sites. In Beaufort County alone, there are over 11,000 adults who cannot read. Our mission is to strengthen literacy in Beaufort County by providing people with the skills to be successful in the community, workplace, and family. We believe that literacy is a basic human right and the key to self worth, personal fulfillment and healthy communities. In the words of a former Nobel Peace Prize recipient, “Literacy is a bridge from misery to hope.”

Your generous gifts to The Literacy Center will ensure that our communities and families live in hope and healthy environments. Your gift really matters and makes a difference to so many.

Thank you in advance for your generous gift to The Literacy Center. Click HERE to make your donation today.
