Jobs Skills Workshops

The Literacy Center will hold a number of helpful student workshops in February. Each session will be held from 6-8:30 p.m. on Fridays. Please contact Rosa at 843.815.6166 to register.

 

Feb. 5: Help with Resumes/Open Computer Lab

For this workshop, be sure to bring a copy of your current resume. (If you have an electronic copy of it, please bring it on a flash drive.) We will help you write and/or improve your current resume. Additionally, the computer lab will be open for students to use and earn extra hours with Rosetta Stone.

 

Feb. 12: Help with Job Applications/Open Computer Lab

For this workshop, we will help students to fill out job applications and/or search for jobs they are interested in. Additionally, the computer lab will be open for students to use and earn extra hours with Rosetta Stone.

 

Feb. 19: Basic Computer Skills/Open Computer Lab

In this workshop, we will cover the basics functions of a computer like how to set up an e-mail account, how to do basic google searches, how to do job searches, and how to use MS word. The purpose of this class is to help students get comfortable with using the computer for day to day tasks. Additionally, the computer lab will be open for students to use and earn extra hours with Rosetta Stone.

 

Feb. 26: Zoom Basics

For this workshop, we will teach student how to use zoom for video conferencing, online classes, and virtual meetings. Additionally, the computer lab will be open for students to use and earn some hours with Rosetta Stone.
